The Quimby Family Foundation has been awarding yearly grants since 2005. We proudly partner with non-profits throughout the state of Maine to promote Human Wholeness. To us, Human Wholeness is physical, emotional, social, and spiritual health and we believe in the inherent value of nature to advance all four.

Friends of the Presumpscot River
For capacity building and ensuring legal and technical advocacy toward re-establishing fish passage at Saccarappa Falls. FOPR has submitted a design which would open fish passage at Saccarappa for the first time in 160 years. This would provide not only spawning habitat, but the future of the upstream dams are dependent on the success at Saccarappa. FOPR, SAPPI, and the city of Westbrook will strive to reach agreement on fish passage design. Capacity building support will be used for streamlining communications, transferring development/financial management activities, and reviving and maintaining regional coalitions and collaborative entities.
